About CODENU

Background Information
The Committee of Deans of Education in Nigerian Universities (CODENU) is established to be a vanguard of quality education in Nigeria and promote higher education system with vibrant teacher researchers for the production of globally competitive graduates. CODENU is geared towards becoming a re-known professional body for advocating and promoting education, pursuing excellence in University teacher education, as well as promoting institutional capacity for production of teachers to meet national and global educational standards. The theme for 2019 Education Summit focuses on the challenges and interventions in the education sector. Nigerian educational system is faced with a lot of challenges ranging from inadequate quality personnel to issues of infrastructure and learning environment. Hence the need for aggregation of key stakeholders to assess the dimensions of these challenges in the educational systems as well explore possible interventions that will enable Nigerian universities to produce quality graduates that can compete globally and help in the economic advancement of our country.
This Summit will, among others, x-ray the personnel based challenges, financial challenges, policy issues affecting the education sector, among numerous others as captured in the sub-themes below.
